Maddie’s Going Away Party

Maddie had a going away party with the girls in her class so they could have one last blowout before we leave for the US. Click here for photos. The girls played games in the garden, ate pizza, watched movies and then stayed up talking until about 3 am. We will miss everyone, but hopefully the girls will stay in touch as they spread out around the world.

New Web Site

I just updated the web site for my business (www.bedrickconsulting.com).  My next big goal is breaking into the US market.  Wish me luck.

Roland Garros

Spent the day in Paris at the French Open. We saw Nadal and Sharapova in the big stadium and Venus/Serena and some lesser known players on the small courts. Click here for photos.

Easter Break in France

First we spent a couple of days in Burgundy (Beaune, Dijon). Beautiful vineyards and cool little towns. Then on to Antibes (on the coast). We had a nice little apartment next to the market and not far from the beach. We went over to Cannes for lunch (Lottie had to buy his own train ticket). Very relaxing. Then stops in Beaux-en-Provence and Lyon on the way home. All in all a really nice trip. Click here to see more photos.

Oxford, England

I spent a day in Oxford on my way to speak at a conference in Brighton. Just me and my camera (and a few pints along the way). It’s a really cool city. Click here for more photos.

Madison’s Year in Review – 2001

This year was of course dominated by the September 11th attacks.  Maddie was too young to realize what had happened but it impacted a lot of things for the next several years.

On a happier note, Maddie’s grandfather Mort turned 70.  We had a big party with several of Steph’s brothers coming to celebrate in Atlanta.  We went to a great Morrocan restaurant called the Imperial Fez with awesome food and live belly dancers.  The dancers loved Maddie and all the men at the table weren’t complaining.  Here are some other highlights:

Toys – Inflatable boat filled with balls and Perdita (stuffed dalmation)

Music – Mix CD of Disney songs (Beauty and the Beast, Alladin, Little Mermaid, etc.)

Books – Yoko’s Paper Cranes.  We read this so often that Maddie memorized and could “read” it back to us page by page.

Movies – Little Mermaid 2

Travel – Homosassa, FL to see Mimi and Papa B (while Steph and I went on a cruise).

Madison’s Year in Review – 2000

When all the computers didn’t crash because of Y2K (Google it if you are too young to remember), we had relatively quiet year.  Maddie started walking at the ripe old age of 15 months.  After months of using tables and other furniture as a “crutch”, we were at a magic show when her friend Brad decided to go to the other side of the room.  Before she could think about it, Maddie just got up and followed him.  By the end of the year she could also say all of her colors.

Toys – Exersaucer and a cool mat with jackpot wheels that spun when you kicked it

Travel – Dallas for Samantha and John’s wedding

Events – Chuckie Tsuboi visited us from Japan.
